CHALLENGE

This is an individual project that allowed me to plan and direct each step of the design thinking process as a UX design student with mobile and web UI design experience.

OBJECTIVE

Build a digital platform specifically for travelers, hikers to search products that can be used to connect user with different camping/trekking supplies available in the market, while providing exceptional user experience.

UNDERSTANDING THE USER

To understand user frustration, needs, and requirements, I conducted a foundational research through interviews and user surveys for my  project. My goal was to gain insights to understand the processes users go through to find and rent outdoor spaces, and acknowledge the importance of the product

Pain points
Who is the Targeted User

India has so many fascinating treks to offer. From Himalayan and Karakoram ranges to treks located in the southern region, it offers awesome trekking experiences throughout the country. Trekking is currently one of the latest trends in India. There is a rapid hike in a total number of trek enthusiastic folks among the Indian population. It is safe to say that treks in India are getting crowded. During peak seasons in popular treks at least 250-300, people trek every day in India.

Therefore, if we sum up the total number of trekkers, there are around 100000 trekkers in popular treks in summer only. We are not including deserted and least popular treks in our list along with off-season trekkers. So many people are opting for trekking experience as their ideal vacation. People are looking out to it as a way to experience nature more closely.

DESIGN & PROTOTYPE

With a better understanding of the users and app features, I began designing how those features would be realized.

TESTING

I conducted a round of usability testing on a high-fidelity prototype to identify core issues in the user flow and features built in.

PROJECT REFLECTION

In this study, I aimed to address common issues faced by users and evaluate the impact of UX design on their mood and decision-making process. Through conducting this research and design, I gained a deeper understanding of how user experience can significantly influence a user’s emotions and choices.
